Joining Medieval KingdomsThere are a total of 4 nations you can join into in Medieval Kingdoms. In each one of them you can experience politics, wars, and just an ordinary life of a Medieval character you create to play in Medieval Kingdoms. This are the the kingdoms and empires you can join into:
Choosing a Name When choosing a name in any of the kingdoms you must choose a real name and the name must be of the kingdom's heritage or something close, very close. If you want a name like Henry II Capet, your first name has to be Henry II and the lastname must be Capet, DO NOT use First: Henry Last: II Capet. Another thing, do not assign yourself a nickname either such as Arnold the Bad. The GMs can only assign those types of names. Also don't place a noble title in fron of your name when joining. Back to Top LoginTo interact with the game on site you must login at your nation's login page. From there you can do what most of anyother character can do on Medieval Kingdoms, things that would depend on what your rank is in society.Back to Top Roleplay and ContactThere are various ways to roleplay in Medieval Kingdoms. Ways like chat programs and the Medieval Forums.ICQ - will be the most used chat program in MK. Download ICQ at icq.com. There you can inact roleplay for preparing scenarios and do just OOC chatting with other players. Rules for using ICQ:
Forum - The Medieval Forums can also be used for roleplay. Back to Top TimeThere will be years and months displayed in Medieval Kingdoms. A years in MK will change every 7 days and months will change every 14 hours.Back to Top Character ProfileYou can edit your character in the character profile page. There you will be able to:
Back to Top MilitaryIn this section you can find out how the military functions throughout Medieval Kingdoms.Troop Types Sword - Short for swordsmen. They make up the backbone of most Medieval Armies. They can also have a range subtypes for this troop type depending on which nation they are from. This must be specified in scenarios. Spear - Short for spearmen. This troop type almost always carries a battle staff of any sort. Archers - This troop type is the lead projectile fighter. Carries a bow and arrows.Light Cavalry - This troop type rides horses for movenment around the battlefield. Mainly lightly armored, faster moving than it's big brother troop type. Heavy Cavalry - This troop type rides horses for movenment around the battlefield. Mainly heavily armored, slow movement compared to light cavalry. Auxiliary - This troop type has a mixture of spear and missle troops, lightly armored. Training Each army will have a training level to note their skill of fighting on the battlefield. Novice - Novice is an army that is either freshly raised or an army that does not have any trainig. An army of this type of training will mostly likely fail on the battlefield. Experienced - An experienced army has at least some battle experience or just has been training just past the skill level of novice. Veteran - An army of this training fights very well on the battle field. To obtain this level of training an army must experience battle and go through tough training. Elite - The highest training level an army can obtain. An army of this training is sometimes merely unstoppable, depends on other conditions as well though. Status Army status could effect the soldiers ability to fight on the battlefield. Mutinous - The army is below broken status and they are ready to turn on their own commander. Broken - The army has a broken mind set, this happens mainly after a huge loss in battle. Some of the troops in an army that is broken main disband themselves, mutiny is possible. Steady - The army has a steady mind set. This is sort of a "average" state of mind for an army. Composed - The army has composed mind set. They have high confidence in their commanders capabilities to command them in battle. Eager - The army is ready to crack some skulls at moments notice. Army Types Regular - The regular army type serves as the main body of entire nation's military forces. Naval - This type has naval fleets. Serves as the leading sea fighting force of each nation. Special - This type contains special forces of each nation. It mainly contains royal bodyguards or special law enforcements. Irregular - This type has armies that are not on the national payroll. They are privately owned by anyone that can cover the expenses of their own army. Rebel - This type is a rebel army that has rebelled against the it's government... Military Expenses Armies are very expensive. An average army size will cost over 5 million to raise and nearly 3 million for upkeep and troop payment. So if you are your nation's leader and want to raise an army you should look at the funds in your treasury and look at the expenses in the long run or else you can take your nation into debt. The same goes for characters that want to raise there own armies. Also if you are a character that wants their own army it would be good to ask the national leader permission, in most cases you do anyways, because of the current state of your nation (i.e. Food shortages in some regions that can't take another army to feed.) so make sure you ask. Location and Movement There are 109 locations for all armies to move to. To move an army you must be the commander of it and you must be logged in and you must move them on the manage armies pages. Army Command To command an army, if you are its commander, you can command them at the Manage Armies link at the the View Armies page. There you can change the army's name, orders and location. Armies in Scenarios Armies are mainly used in battle scenarios but they can be used in other types of scenarios such as building projects. The use of armies is almost endless in Medieval Kingdoms. Back to Top ScenariosTo make large important actions in Medieval Kingdoms you must write them as scenarios and send them to medievalkingdoms@hotmail.com. There they can be approved and edited by the GMs then if approved and properly edited they will be posted in your nation's history pages. The scenarios that are posted in the World Scenarios page carry a large world concern. Scenarios can also be private meaning that it wont be posted to the public and the actions you take will still be true. Even small things can be sent as scenarios like your character's location and loans and other money transactions.Back to Top RanksThere are alot of ranks in Medieval Kingdoms, they decide your character's status and prestige among other characters. Some ranks may let you have access to certain pages or view items usually hidden from others.King/Emperor - The King/Emperor is the ruler of the apparent kingdom/empire. He rules by divine right. This is rank is backed by the anchor rank of commander in chief to control everything in the kingdom/empire. Queen/Empress - The Queen/Empress is the ruler of the apparent kingdom/empire. She rules by divine right. This rank is backed by the anchor rank of commander in chief to control everything in the kingdom/empire. Duke and Prince - These ranks are royalty or high nobility. Each rules a Duchy and a Principality. The the secondary rank, heir, usaully goes to anyone that has the rank of Duke or Prince. Duchess and Princess - These ranks are royalty or high nobility. Each rules or co-rules a Duchy and a Principality along with their husbands or if their husband is deceased, by themselves. This rank can also obtain the secondary rank of heir. Nobility - There are many nobility titles in Medieval Kingdoms, such as Marquess, Earl, Count, Viscount, and Baron and their female counterparts. The King or Queen can give these titles out or it can be inherited. Secondary and anchor ranks can give you more power. Military Ranks - Field Marshal, General, Lt. General, Major General, and on down to Lieutenant are available military rank your character can hold. These military ranks are primary and secondary ranks. Why also secondary ranks? The nobility can hold military ranks i.e. your rank can be Duke Field Marshal on display on the citizens page, but to make it sound right in scenarios call yourself Field Marshal Duke [your name]. But if you do not have a title of nobility are are just Field Marshal. Knights and Squires - You can declare yourself squire from editing your character's rank at your profile page. To get to the next step you must be active and knighted by the king or queen or even a character of nobility. Religous Ranks - Cardinal, Archbishop, Abbot, Friar, and Monk and their female counterparts are available religious ranks in Medieval Kingdoms. The characters that hold these ranks are viewed not at the nation's citizens page that they belong to but at the papacy citizens page. The Pope handles these ranks. Private Citizen - The beginning rank of everyone...but if you join as a son of a noble and your father(lets just say a Count) dies you can email the GMs at medievalkingdoms@hotmail.comto make your claim and they will sort things out. The rest is just self explanatory for this rank. Secondary Ranks The military ranks are also secondary ranks and they've been already explained. The rank of heir - is a character that will take the thrown of his/her predecessor and rule as King/Queen or Emperor/Empress. Anchor Ranks Anchor ranks, as we call them in Medieval Kingdoms, are ranks that actually give the true power in this game. For example you can be king or emperor and be powerless, you must be backed with anchor rank of of Commander in Chief to control the government.
Back to Top The MarketsThe markets are the places to purchase items that may earn you money or not or even decrease your fundings. You can view your market on the market page of your nation. Each of them self explanitory. But if a character is exiled from it's nation and he/she wants to join another nation and keep all of his/her data you may discuss it with the GMs.Back to Top Character PrestigePrestige is primarily awarded on how much wealth you have or the market items you have or have atleast obtained.Back to Top Character HealthCharacter health in MK goes through stages as a character ages.
Back to Top The PapacyThe Papacy is a nation in Medieval Kingdoms, but you cannot join into the Papacy. The only way you can join into the Papacy is only if you are elected the Bishop of Rome. On the Papacy Pages you can view special churches (AKA Cathedrals) and view the religious leaders of all other nations. The Papacy does not have a standing army like other nation, but does have treasury that everyone can view. The Pope can be very influential to all nations, it is important that the Pope has good inflence to spread the religion.Back to Top |
